Every two years athletes from around the Province are brought together for the BC Winter Games. The 2012 event was held in Vernon and Cruise Victoria was there with six (6) motor coaches including our Prevost H3-45 "Games Coach" with a new AD from the BC Games Society.
Cruise Victoria charters luxury motor coaches for sporting teams to locations around the Province and these are some of the locations that our "Games" coach has been over the past 3 weeks - Cranbrook, Vernon, Vancouver, Port Alberni, Parksville and Victoria. The "Games" bus will travel the Province promoting the BC Summer and Winter Games and Sport in the Province. CVS Sightseeing returns with service on the Butchart Gardens Express Tour and the Deluxe Victoria City Tour.
Our Butchart Gardens Tour returns to operation on February 3rd at a cost of $50.00 including return trip transportation and Butchart Gardens Admission included. The service will intially operate at 12pm daily and will arrive back from The Gardens at 3:45pm. The travel to and from The Gardens is direct and includes a full narration from the driver. Total time spent on the 50 acres of the former limestone quarry turned world renown show garden is two hours, plenty of time to wander at your leisure and view the various themed gardens including the iconic Sunken Garden, the Japanese Gardens and the Italian Gardens.
The Deluxe Victoria City Tour will depart at 10:00am and 1:00pm daily and includes sights such as Chinatown, Songhees, Old Towne and Marine Drive. A highlight of this 1 1/2 hour tour includes a stop atop Mt. Tolmie viewpoint for photo opportunities. Other sights include the University of Victoria, the Uplands Residential District and upscale Beach Drive with stunning views of Mt. Baker.

When on Charter either locally or across the country it is important to be able to monitor coach safety and location. Cruise Victoria has installed satellite based GPS monitoring on its charter and sightseeing fleet. Real time data is fed back 24/7 and the exact vehicle location, coach status, speed, direction, idle times and even if the engine brake is engaged can be monitored. Coach mileages are also monitored to ensure maintenance schedules are met and the fuel range is not going to be exceeded.
The new system was installed in half of the 18 coaches in the CVS fleet and allows the Company to be able to monitor driver hours of service as well to ensure that Provincial and Federal regulations are adhered to.
The GPS system also provides Driver Assist with the ability to lock in destinations and schedule arrival and departure times as well as route options. The Driver Assist also provides a datalink to the Dispatch Office to provide two way information through an intuitive text based system.

In 2011 Cruise Victoria added four (4) additional motor coaches to its fleet. Now operating 18 motor coaches, the CVS fleet includes 50 & 56 seat Prevost H3-45 coaches, 47 seat MCI motor coaches and 29 seat Eldorado mini coaches.
The charter fleet is made up of Prevost H3-45's which are quite simply the finest motor coaches available. Featuring the largest luggage capacity of any motor coach in the market, the also are equipped with seamless glass windows, DVD-Video systems, P/A Stereo, Climate Control, footrests, contoured seating and some coaches even have tray tables and 110v plug-ins at every seat.
Our Edorado National mini coach was also added to the fleet this past season and is equipped with DVD-Video, PA System and large panoramic windows. At 29 seats and with luggage capacity this climate controlled coach is perfect for smaller groups and for local sightseeing.
New to the fleet this year is our GPS Satelite Dispatch and GPS Driver Assist system which ensures the coach is monitored for safe operating condition, location and other variables on a 24/7 basis. The driver assist system makes for finding addresses in foreign cities a breeze.
All coaches also operate on 100% Bio-Fuel from March to October, significantly lowering our Carbon Footprint.
